I have this DVD in my Honda Odyssey for over 3 years now, it still plays very well. I had it installed by Circuit City, totaling $1,000. I would give it a 4 and half stars if I could. The only drawback is its price and the little loose screws (see below). I think it is little bit expensive but you get good quality and long lasting product. My wife’s sister got an Audiovox one and it broke after 2 years.
I too have a loose swivel, Thanks to Tom M, I opened the back of the monitor, found the 4 loose screws and fixed it with little bit LocTite threadlock. There are 4 screws at the top of the monitor. After you unscrewed them, use a small flat head screw driver to pry open the back cover slowly. There are 3 latches on both side of the monitor cover, so pry open gently. Pry open just a little bit at a time, working on both sides at the same time, and from top to bottom. Don’t use too much force or you will break the latches. When you get the last latch unlock, it will pop open by itself.
I found 4 little screws inside, near the top, around the swivel collar. Screwed them back in with little bit LocTite fixed the whole thing. Push the back cover back is a piece of cake. Good Luck.

This unit is great, but until the screen becomes easier to rotate and falls down. We have 2 of them, one was in a used car we bought, the other was the first one we had. I am on chat with Sony right now, and have an appt to take it in for repair AGAIN at Circuit City, this is the 3rd time. The first unit we had, the screen got looser and looser and then fell down, hanging by wires. The one in the used car has just done the same. This was a gift from grandpa…maybe to get us to take the kids to visit more, he lived 8 hour away, and he bought a warranty that will expire in 2009…I am telling Sony NEVER again will I buy one. BUT, other than this issue, it does work well, you can even hook up video games to it to play!
AND now all Sony is telling me is to take it to be repaired…no DUH!! I am so mad!!

This unit was installed on my Suburban. The installation facility (Mobile One) never got FM modulator to work which forced my kids to use either headphone or speakers on the Sony system itself.
The screen is nice but we noticed the DVD player starting to skip or freezing up after 6 months. Sent the unit back to Sony for repair and so far after about 20 days, I have not received the system back from them. Sony definitely has poor repair facility with poor communication. They kept telling me that someone will call me back within 24 hours and I never received any type of reply back from them. I have spoken to their supervisor and so far no one has “authority” to do anything over there. Previosly, I had a problem with another Sony product and it took them three different times to fix the problem.
I am beginning to think that Sony is not the company that I thought it was. I am actually looking for 40 or 50″ TV for my living room and I decided not to look into Sony at all.
This unit is nice when it works. However, I would advise you to purchase a portable DVD player with display unit which is around $300 to $400.
